Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of social support and achievement motivation, both partially and simultaneously, on the desire to become entrepreneurs among students in Islamic boarding schools. The study used a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. The population was all active students in Islamic boarding schools in Central Java, with a sample of 325 students selected using simple random sampling. The measurement instrument was a questionnaire with a Likert scale of 1–5 that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis included classical assumption tests and multiple linear regression analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics software version 25. All statements were declared valid, with reliability coefficients for each variable: social support (α = 0.826), achievement motivation (α = 0.847), and desire to become entrepreneurs (α = 0.819). Partially, social support had a significant positive effect (t = 6.824; p = 0.000 < 0.05), and achievement motivation also had a significant positive effect (t = 9.176; p = 0.000 < 0.05). Simultaneously, both variables had a significant effect (F = 167.243; p = 0.000 < 0.05), contributing 50.9%. The higher the social support and achievement motivation of students, the higher their desire to become entrepreneurs.
