Main Article Content
Abstract
The ability to recognize and manage emotions from an early age is a crucial foundation for a child’s social and emotional development. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of picture-story media in introducing and training emotional expression in early childhood. The training utilized a learning through play approach, employing play methods, game-based learning, and role-play simulations. The media included illustrated sheets and coloring tools to support children's understanding of basic emotions such as happiness, sadness, and anger. The results showed that children were able to identify and express emotions through drawings, emotion face cards, and group discussions. Evaluation was conducted authentically through direct observation of children's participation during activities. These findings indicate that story-based and visual approaches are highly effective in fostering emotional awareness and enhancing children's social skills in a safe and supportive learning environment.
