Abstract
Crime is a complex and multidimensional social issue, not solely rooted in an individual's personal traits but also shaped by interpersonal interactions and the surrounding social context. Social psychology, as a field that studies the influence of social environments on human behavior, plays a critical role in understanding and reducing criminal activity. By referring to theories such as social learning, labeling, and social control, this discipline explains how group pressure, negative labeling, and weak social bonds can contribute to the emergence of deviant behavior. This research adopts a literature review approach to examine how social psychology can be applied in crime prevention efforts. The analysis reveals that strategies such as community involvement, social empowerment, and the creation of supportive environments are effective in lowering crime rates.
