Abstract

The election of the new president and vice president is a complex process involving a variety of factors, including the dynamics of the individual's political identity. Political identity refers to how individuals build and maintain their political identity through experiences, cultures, and values associated with the political party or ideology they support. The study aims to understand the dynamics of political identity in the election of presidents and vice presidents through a qualitative approach. It will examine how individuals build and maintain their political identities in the context of elections and how this affects their choices. The study uses a quantitative approach by conducting structured interviews with subject consisting of private university students X in Bekasi who elect presidential and vice-presidential candidates. The research is expected to contribute to a deeper understanding of how the dynamics of political identity influence students' choices in presidential and vice-presidential elections.
