Abstract

Domestic violence is any form of verbal or non-verbal violence committed by a husband or wife against their partner or children which results in physical, psychological, sexual and economic problems. Acts of domestic violence can take the form of psychological threats, physical and sexual violence, and neglect. The law that regulates domestic violence is stated in Law no. 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence (UUPKDRT). This research uses a literature study approach to reveal findings from previous sources regarding domestic violence (KDRT) and its impact on children. There are 2 factors that cause domestic violence to occur, namely those originating from within the family members themselves and factors originating from outside the nuclear family. The impact felt by children as a result of domestic violence can occur directly on the child and can occur in the future, and children who are victims of domestic violence have the potential to become perpetrators of domestic violence if the trauma they face is not handled properly.
